The “Moet” is our favorite classic mermaid style wedding gown from Matthew Christopher. It is just perfect for the bride who wants to show off her curves on her wedding day.

Many brides and grooms are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint at their wedding. Not only does this help the planet, but it also makes a clear environmentally conscience statement tothe wedding guests. It might even help wedding guests re-evaluate their consumption patterns and use some of the ideas that the bride and groom put forth in their own daily lives. We have brainstormed several ways to create an event that is in harmony with mother earth.
>Rent as many things as possible such as stemware, plates, linens tables and chairs
>Ask your preferred florist and caterer if they can use organic or local product
>Consider potted plants as decor accents
>Donate a portion of your wedding flowers to a nursing home or hospital
>Request that you caterers put all food waste in a compost container and sort recycling
> Instead of paper save the date and invitations, consider electronic save the date and invitation for your more tech-savvy guests.
>Instead of a using a gift registry, choose a non-profit organization that you would like to have your guests support
>Create a wedding website that explains how your event represents effort to conserve
>Organize ride shares to reduce the number of vehicles used to travel to and from your event

Inspired by her love for historical fashion—especially the dramatic, feminine silhouette created by the corset and bustle—Colorado Springs-based designer Alisa Benay has been creating custom, vintage-inspired bridal wear for more than 15 years.
Using her obsession with vintage gowns as a design basis for her dresses, Benay’s current collection features 13 gowns, ranging in price from $2,000 to $5,000, as well as one limited-edition gown for $8,000.
Each of Benay’s bridal dresses are made upon order using high-quality fabrics, including silk taffeta and chiffon, tulle, and silk crepe, as well as custom-made European trims and laces—and even special details like handmade silk flowers. Although her gowns may be inspired by the past, her atelier is strictly modern.
Benay strives to keep her business local by producing her line entirely in Colorado Springs, and she minimizes her company’s impact on the environment by recycling leftover materials from her production process.

We were so pleased to be a part of this photo shoot with 5280 Magazine. We already posted the beautiful photos from the original article, but we thought brides would benefit from these make up tips from Michael Moore too.
Reposted from 5280 Magazine
With 22 years of experience, Michael Moore has become the go-to makeup artist for Denver brides. His philosophy—that makeup doesn’t need to be complicated to be beautiful—helps Moore keep brides from going overboard with makeup on their wedding day. To get the complete look of each theme, watch Moore’s video tutorial below.
Classic: Think of a timeless beauty like Grace Kelly. To get the flawless yet natural complexion, spray on ERA FACE Foundation (it even covers blemishes and tattoos). Next, create a soft, smoky eye using a mushroom-colored mineral eye shadow on the lid and under the eye, then line with black for definition.
Modern: Think edgy but beautiful. Start with a spray-on foundation, and use a mineral-powder illuminating concealer for a perfect finish. For a sexy, smoky eye, apply silver on the lids, blending up to the crease, and fill in the corner to accentuate the shape of the lid. Finally, line both the top and bottom lash lines.
Mountain: A Colorado mountain wedding calls for a look that is both pretty and natural. Cheeks should always look as if you’ve been exercising, so find a cream or powder blush that will add brightness. Gloss is a nice way to keep the lips kissable and moist, so go for a sheer lip in a natural tone. Simply Moore Holographic Lip Gloss, $22, simply-moore.com.
