In case you want to become a model, you should follow a strict dietary practice to control weight. You may have seen Young Girls Online with super slim figure. A tiny inch of difference will lead to a fashion disaster as you will be regarded as an ideal figure that is at per the time and the current trends.
Little White Dress Bridal Shop recently viewed the entire 2014 collection by Anne Barge at Bridal Fashion Week in New York! WOW! The collection is just beautiful. Anne Barge’s timeless silhouettes are accented by unique details, luxurious silks and laces, and delicate accents. Here are just a few of our favorites from the gorgeous collection!
For weeks and weeks before Bridal Fashion Week each October, we speculate about what boho-vintage wedding gown goddess Claire Pettibone will do at her always-spectacular runway show. The themes of her collections are without exception creative, artistic, and entirely unique. This Bridal Fashion Week, Claire Pettibone wowed the audience, the fashion magazines and blogs yet again, this time with her Still Life collection.
Says Claire of her inspiration for the collection, “In the second half of the 17th century, the art of the floral still life reached the height of fashion. Dramatic arrangements of flora and fauna, insects and fruits, set against dramatic dark backgrounds exude a mysterious romanticism. The brilliance of nature’s beauty is highlighted to dramatic effect, just as the bride becomes the center of our attention. Painterly butterflies and floral details grace delicate silks and laces gilded in gold, glowing as if lit from within. Oh, the unexplainable mystery of love! Be still my heart…still in love…still life.”
Even the description leaves us breathless! Then, imagine the delight we felt at walking in the show setting to see a long, elevated runway covered in silk rose petals arranged in a striking ombre color scheme, ranging from the palest blush to midnight black.
No detail was spared for the setting of the runway show. Goodies for all guests included limited edition iPhone covers and notecards from Claire Pettibone’s new collaboration with stationery brand Wedding Paper Divas. Decorations included opulent bouquets made of paper flowers and tags hanging from silk ribbon from each chair.
With such a beautiful experience before a model even started down the runway, imagine our eager anticipation as the first gown floated down the rose petal path. The gowns were straight out of a dream….
To the applause of an awe-struck audience, Claire Pettibone took a well-deserved bow on the runway after the final walk-through of models. Bravo to Claire’s Still Life collection!
The excitement didn’t stop there! After the show ended, we chatted with Bachelorette Des, who was in the audience with us. Did you know she used to work for a bridal accessories designer in Colorado?!
To experience the incredible Still Life collection by Claire Pettibone and to meet and be styled by Claire Pettibone herself, join us for a trunk show at Little White Dress Bridal Shop, January 24-26, 2014! Mark your calendar now for our most popular trunk show of the year!
The Reem Acra runway show: what a way to kick off Fall 2013′s Bridal Fashion Week! We’ve had our eye on this well-known designer for a while now and we were excited to view her newest collection. After seeing her runway show and getting a look at these gowns up close, we had all but decided that we had to bring Reem Acra to Colorado. These dresses are just that beautiful. (The actual decision to carry Reem Acra was made at our viewing appointment the next day – all the details to come in the next post!)
From BRIDES: Exotic wedding venues and nontraditional locales inspired Reem Acra’s glamorous Fall 2014 wedding dress runway show, titled “Going Global.” From feathery crowns to twinkling beadwork, Acra’s latest collection managed to be modern, exotic, and feminine all at the same time, aiming to satisfy the growing number of brides traveling overseas to tie the knot. Like Acra’s previous collection, lace-embroidery glistened over a sheer nude bodice. Light fabrics such as tulle, delicate shirring, and buoyant ruffles made this collection feel as breathless as ever.
Ms. Acra may have had exotic places in mind when designing this collection, but we think these gowns are the perfect match for Colorado’s beautiful landscapes and wedding venues. They are extraordinarily delicate and elegant, while being natural, fresh, and understated all at the same time. Our brides are going to fall in love with these gowns as much as we have.
Enjoy some of our images from Reem Acra’s runway show!
Stay tuned for all the details about our viewing of the collection at the Reem Acra showroom, including meeting with Reem Acra herself, and our decision to bring this incredible designer to Colorado brides!
We had another day at Bridal Market jam packed with gorgeous dresses, back-to-back appointments throughout the city, and the best parties of Bridal Fashion Week!
We started bright and early: LWD owner Cate was asked by The Knot to be on the panel of bridal shop experts from around the country for a breakfast panel discussion, and she gladly accepted! Cate enjoyed sharing her knowledge, experience, and tips with newer bridal shops about how to be successful.
The panel’s host from The Knot introducing three bridal shop experts, including our very own Cate!
For much of the day we jetted around to our designers’ showrooms so we could pick which of their new gowns to have in store at Little White Dress. These decisions can be so, so tough when we love so many of the gowns and can only have a few. But we studied every dress in detail, thinking about what our brides want and about what we already have or don’t have in the shop, and we ended up making the absolute best decisions. We are thrilled to introduce our new gowns to Colorado brides.
Two of our favorites by Liancarlo. Each gown is perfectly made down to every stitch, and we love admiring the work and detail that goes into the Liancarlo gowns.
The Jenny Packham showroom is always one of the stops we most look forward to. It’s like being in your best friend’s living room, if your best friend were the chicest, most fabulous London girl.
It’s one thing to see these beauties on the runway (in a word: jaw-dropping!), but Jenny Packham gowns really shine up close when you notice just how well-made, light, and flattering they are.
Our final selection of the Jenny Packham gowns to have at Little White Dress! These six gowns are STUNNERS!
After all our appointments were over, we had a quick costume change to get in our gala wear for the evening’s big celebrations. Our first stop: the Martha Stewart Weddings party!
All gussied up for the biggest parties of the year!
All around the enormous room at Martha’s headquarters in the Chelsea neighborhood were food and drink stations, photo booths, a braid bar, manicure station, a live band, and more. Martha sure knows how to throw a party! We had a great time enjoying the entertainment and running into Claire Pettibone and her husband Guy, the Anne Barge team, the Jenny Packham team, the Love Veils girls, and so many more!
The Martha Stewart Wedding party’s theme was Starry Night.
The last stop of the night: The Knot Gala! Held at the famous New York Public Library, The Knot Gala is always the biggest, loudest party of Bridal Fashion Week.
The grand entrance to The Knot Gala
By the time we got there, the dance floor was packed, the celebrities were roaming (we said hi to Randy Fenoli!), and the champagne was flowing. Truly the place to see and be seen!
Everyone loved the great band, the glitzy decor, and the chance to see all our favorite people in the industry!
The Knot Gala usually marks the end of Bridal Week for us, but this year we’re staying an extra day because we just couldn’t fit all our appointments in four days! Stay tuned for more, including our official announcements about the new designers that will be at Little White Dress!
Today we went to the biggest and most buzzed about shows in bridal – all day and all over New York City. We saw some of our most favorite, been-with-us-forever designers, some designers we like to check in on whenever we can, some designers we’d never seen before but were curious about, and some designers that we knew would be fabulous even though they’re not exactly what our brides are looking for right now. And for the following reasons, the rest of this post will be in pictures: 1) We can describe a dress all day long, but the picture of the dress is what will inspire you; 2) We took a lot of great pictures today of beeeautiful gowns; 3) It’s very late; 4) Our feet hurt.
Enjoy our recap-in-photos of our third day at 2013 Bridal Market!
The GORGEOUS Rivini show. Always one of the best venues of Bridal Market, and the gowns were just beautiful.
Matthew Christopher brought it this Market. We loved seeing these trends in his new collection: gold embroidery, high-low hemlines and horsehair hems, plus a pale blue gown. Just perfect.
A few more of our favorite looks throughout the day: a drop-waist gown that is crazy flattering on every figure; metallic built-in jewelry for the edgy bride; architectural yet feminine detailing and mixed materials.
Which of the trends we saw today is your favorite? 1) Punk rock brides, 2) Feathers and Sequins (in a pantsuit that we actually loved!), 3) The low-low-LOW back.
And a few more snaps of our thrilling, fun, tiring, beautiful day:
Matthew Christopher threw a party to celebrate his new collection – and OF COURSE we had to attend!
A well-deserved drink at the Mondrian Soho to cap off the day!
