LWD: What is the history of Justin Alexander Bridal?

Saundra: In 1946 at a time when women were renouncing the idea of clothing as a mere necessity and embracing fashion as a way to express femininity, confidence, and beauty, Shirley and Ted Warshaw founded T&G Bridal, selling tiaras and headpieces out of Brooklyn, NY.  In the 1970s the second generation of Warshaws joined the business and expanded to the wedding dress market.  Larry Warshaw brought the business to Europe with Sweetheart Europe, including the introduction of the Sincerity Bridal collection.  After much growth in Western Europe, Larry reentered the US market in 2001 and shortly thereafter launched the Justin Alexander collection.  Justin Warshaw joined the business full-time in 2008 with a focus on developing the five distinct brands that cater to market trends and the diverse needs of brides across the global.

LWD: What sets Justin Alexander apart from other bridal gown designers?

Saundra: Justin Alexander designs a collection that is fashion forward and on trend while keeping in mind what looks good on real women.  Justin Alexander gowns have impeccable craftsmanship and construction, and they fit perfectly to the body making every bride shine and feel beautiful.

LWD: What is the inspiration for the latest Signature collection?

Saundra: For the Justin Alexander Signature Fall/Winter 2018 collection, the spotlight shines on drama. Silhouette, simplicity, and embellishment take center stage; while our glamorous classics get a modern update.

LWD: What’s trending in bridal for 2018?

Saundra: There is still a continuation of sexy styles with fitted silhouettes and back interest.  There seems to be a comeback with clean and modern styles.  Bridal capes are a great way to accessorize.

LWD: What is a bridal trend you’re seeing less of this season?

Saundra: Over-construction and heavy linings – women want styles that are comfortable and move on the body, which is why we use jersey and luxe charmeuse in many styles.

LWD: What kind of bride is a Justin Alexander Signature bride?

Saundra: The Justin Alexander Signature bride is a confident, self-assured and elegant woman who is independent and a trend-setter in her peer group.  She is curious, active and interesting.  Her lifestyle is modern and stimulating, and she incorporates her life experiences into her wedding style.

LWD: What advice do you give brides shopping for their wedding gown?

Saundra: Always be open to trying on many different silhouettes especially if it is your very first bridal appointment and take into consideration styles that your consultant recommends.
