In our Get to Know! blog series, our goal is to introduce our brides and fans to many of the wedding services and resources available throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. Today we'd like to introduce you to Laura Dombrowski, the creator of the award-winning website, COUTUREcolorado, a inspirational online magazine and blog about Denver's wedding and fashion industries.

COUTUREcolorado's Laura Dombrowski

We asked Laura some "get to know you" type questions and here's what she had to say:

LWD:  Why did you start COUTUREcolorado?

Laura: I saw a niche in the market that wasn't being covered by the current media outlets. I took a chance and launched COUTUREcolorado. It paid off. COUTUREcolorado was named BEST BLOG by 5280 Magazine within the first five months of its launch and now for three years running. Having consistent focused content makes for a loyal and growing readership.

LWD:  Where do you see COUTUREcolorado in 5 years? 10 years?

Laura: We have continued our growth in the last 2 1/2 years. We started as a wedding blog and then launched our lifestyle site and are now prepping to launch our baby site. Once we have Colorado under wraps, I foresee COUTURE growing to other states. Maybe international? I have also just partnered up with Kelle McCarter of DesignsGirl to create an annual art magazine called Paperswell.

LWD: What is the best thing about running COUTUREcolorado?

Laura: I absolutely love hearing from our readers on how they tried out a new hike, upped their style or found their perfect wedding vendor on COUTUREcolorado. It is a pleasure and honor to feel so connected to our readers. Also, hearing that a local business owner booked a new client through COUTUREcolorado always gives me the warm fuzzy feeling. A recent email from one of our readers commented on how COUTUREcolorado has made her want to move to Colorado. Love that!!!

LWD: What is the #1 thing that gets you up in the morning?

Laura: My dogs jumping on my bed wanting breakfast. :) I truly love to work. Everyday is different at COUTUREcolorado. Whether it is writing an article or editing a photo shoot, there is always something new and exciting to look forward to.

LWD: What do you love most about living in Colorado?

Laura: City living with access to the mountains makes Colorado so unique. My husband and I escape up to the mountains for weekend trips in the winter for skiing and in the summer for hiking and golf. You just can't beat our lifestyle here.

LWD: What is the biggest challenge you face as a Writer? Entrepreneur? Wife?

Laura: My biggest challenge is that I really like to work. Everyone needs to learn have a balance of work and play. With the start of this new career as the editor of COUTUREcolorado, I have promised myself two days off a week. Most of the time, I do it.

LWD: What are three adjectives you'd use to describe yourself?

Laura: Independent, Motivated, Honest

LWD: What is the last book you read?

Laura: "A New Earth," by Eckhart Tolle - I have read it twice. I keep it on my nightstand for my "in case of emergency freak outs." It really puts everything in perspective.

LWD: What is your motto/quote to live by?

Laura: “Life isn't as serious as my mind makes it out to be.” -Eckhart Tolle
