Jayme + Niilo's Negril, Jamaica Wedding

There are few words to describe Jayme and Niilo’s breathtaking wedding in Negril, Jamaica. The sweet couple wed on the most beautiful December day at the Rockhouse Hotel and Spa overlooking the Caribbean Sea. As if their elegant island aesthetic wasn’t perfect enough, the sky was painted soft blue and pink as the sun set on their wedding day.

Jayme fell in love with Justin Alexander Signature gown 9893, which is a mermaid gown with Chantilly lace appliques and cap sleeves topped with a matching cathedral veil with lace appliques. Jayme chose a dramatic halo headpieces by Maria Elena Headpieces.

We’re honored to have sat down with Jayme to ask her a few questions about her wedding day and experience with LWD. Read on for more about her and Niilo’s gorgeous wedding day!

LWD: Tell us a little about your gown shopping experience. What were you looking for in a dress and how did you narrow it down to your favorites?

Jayme: Before coming to LWD, I only had a very vague idea of what I wanted in a gown. Even though the wedding was going to be held on the cliffs in Jamaica, I knew I still wanted to feel formal. My top priorities were to have a beautiful train, like my mom's wedding dress, and to have a perfect fit to my body. I chose to shop at LWD after learning how amazing their stylists were at guiding you in the right direction (LWD was the only shop I went to for this reason) I was so happy to work with Megan! She gave me the perfect variety of dresses to narrow down what my likes and dislikes were with each style. I was able to really narrow it down after we added accessories to my look.

LWD: How did you end up deciding on your Justin Alexander wedding dress? What did you love most about your dress?

Jayme: I ended up choosing my dress not only because it make me feel the most bridal, but also because it felt absolutely amazing on my body! My favorite part of my dress is a tie between the insanely beautiful train and the applique details. I fell completely in love once I tried the matching veil which had the same appliques and even more length than my train!

LWD: What was your favorite part of your wedding?

Jayme: My husband and I do not live anywhere near the majority of our guests so having everyone together for the first time and celebrating our love with all of them was my favorite part! Our guests traveled from 10 different states and 3 different countries so it was important to us to spend time with them outside just the reception alone. We were able to completely occupy Rockhouse Hotel for the length of our stay, so it made for an amazingly intimate and elongated celebration! Pool time, cliff jumping, boat rides.. all the fun!

If I had to narrow down my favorite moment, it would have to be dancing into the reception, being announced as Mr. and Mrs. while all of our guests cheered and screamed for us! Talk about being in love and feeling love- it was such a surreal moment.

LWD: Do you have any advice for brides going through the process of finding their wedding dress?

Jayme: Stop looking online and on Pinterest so much! What you like online may not look or feel right on your body and sometimes dresses look so different in person! I saw my dress online after I purchased it and I barley recognized it. More importantly, be honest with your stylist so you can trust her fully. I would not have found my dress without mine!

LWD: Anything else you want to mention about your experience with LWD?

Jayme: The selection and the service was wonderful. After booking our venue at Rockhouse, LWD was the second vendor I encountered. LWD really sets the standard in the wedding industry! I loved that my stylist listened to me and was never like a salesperson.

Also, since I have not mentioned it yet, I am obsessed with my Maria Elana headpiece. It completed my bridal look and I will definitely be making excuses to wear it again.
