LWD Designers at New York Fashion Week

Designers Reem Acra, Jenny Packham, Naeem Khan, and Marchesa - all available in Colorado only at Little White Dress Bridal Shop - showed their latest ready-to-wear collections this past week at New York Fashion Week to rave reviews. We at Little White Dress watched the coverage from here in Denver, in anticipation of April's New York Bridal Fashion Week, where we see the new bridal collections firsthand. We love keeping an eye on all the amazing things our designers are doing, and Fashion Week is always an exciting preview of the styles, trends, and inspirations that will likely make their way into the bridal collections in a couple months.

Here's the scoop on these four fabulous fashion shows and a straight-from-the-runway peek at what we're loving most from these new designer collections!

Reem Acra

Reem Acra - born in Lebanon and now based in New York, and a favorite designer of celebrities - was inspired for the Fall 2015 season by another creative, successful, stylish woman: Stevie Nicks. The lush textures and bohemian styling of the collection results in absolutely exquisite details, and an almost Renaissance-meets-Game of Thrones romance. We're bound to see several of these gorgeous gowns on the red carpet this year! And we're hoping to see hints of these rich textures and boho-chic details in Reem Acra's upcoming bridal collection.

Jenny Packham

After a few seasons of light, ultra-feminine looks, Jenny Packham turned to the darker side for her Fall 2015 Ready to Wear collection - and we absolutely love it. Her signature beading, classic silhouettes, and Kate Middleton-approved ladylike looks haven't gone anywhere, thankfully - it's just a slightly edgier evolution for the designer, which was inspired by a trip to the Prado museum in Madrid. Her dramatic use of silver could mean a move toward this striking metallic in bridal wear, in place of the rose gold that has reigned in bridal style this past year. (How fun would that gown on the right be for a glamorous bride?!)

Naeem Khan

Naeem Khan's shows are always the talk of the runways, and this season was no exception - starting before a model even walked down the runway. (The show's backdrop was a graffiti mural that the artist was finishing as audience members found their seats.) The Indian designer's celebrity-approved looks - just watch the Oscar's red carpet this Sunday! - are edgy, yet feminine, and with such luxurious details. Just take a look at the ombre effect of the ball gown on the right, created with hundreds of layers of silk. The same powerful aesthetic is sure to be visible in Naeem Khan's new bridal collection: he designs his bridal gowns each with a specific jet-set destination wedding location in mind.

Marchesa

Design duo extraordinaire Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig of Marchesa created an opulent fashion spectacle at their Fashion Week show, set in the elegant St. Regis Hotel. So opulent, in fact, that it was inspired by the idea of an Opium Dream. Anna Wintour and Blake Lively were spotted front row, mesmerized by the 3-D poppies, wisps of cloudy-colored fabric, and 1920s silk fringe that floated down the runway. We hope the same dream-like effect is infused in Marchesa's upcoming bridal collection!
