Samantha and Quinn’s dreamy Snowmass, Colorado wedding is a true testament to the their love, perseverance and endless desire to get married and celebrate despite the obstacles 2020 brought. Samantha was married in the absolutely stunning Sauvignon gown by Claire Pettibone and finished off her look with the classic Chloe Long Russian Braid veil by Sassi Holford. Congratulations to Sammy and Quin - it’s an honor to have been a small part of your beautiful wedding day!

See below for Samantha and Quinn’s wedding story:

“Quinn and I met and started dating when we were in high school. I was only 16 years old at the time but I just knew that someday I was going to marry this boy. We’ve been together ever since. Two years ago Quinn proposed at sunset on a beautiful beach in Italy while we were on a family trip. So began the wedding planning! We shared the same dream of being married surrounded by beloved family and friends, in the backyard of a family ranch near Aspen, a place that has become so special to us over the years. With our original date set for early May of 2020 and a devastating viral pandemic affecting the entire world, we had to start considering all of our options. Our dream wedding day, like many other 2020 couples, was constantly in question. Do we elope? Postpone? Are we allowed 50 people? 10 people? It was a constant rollercoaster of emotions and heartbreaking as a bride who has dreamed of this day my entire life. Every day felt like we were faced with more restrictions and changes.

We decided in March to postpone our wedding to August with high hopes for things to improve by then. Sadly they did not, as we had so naively hoped for. In July we were faced the same problem as Colorado was not allowing more than 50 people at weddings. With a guest list of 130, we again had to decide to postpone for the second time or to cut down our guest list. We ultimately decided that we didn’t want to wait any longer to be married. We chose to put ourselves and what we wanted first. We moved forward planning a smaller wedding of 50. We took all necessary precautions to make sure our vendors and guests felt safe. Things were finally coming together. The week of our wedding had finally arrived, but unfortunately so did several Colorado wildfires. Main highways were being closed off due to the fires, forcing our wedding guests and other travelers to take alternate and unsafe routes that subsequently were being shut down due to accidents and traffic volume. With two days before the wedding, all major roads as well as smaller access roads had closed, forcing our guests and vendors to take an 11 hour trip around the state just to get from Denver to Aspen. After all the challenges we had already faced to get to this day, we were sad to see it change yet again and see our beautiful state on fire, but it didn’t phase us this time. What mattered most was that we were together, that we loved each other, and that we were getting married no matter what. It’s funny how these things can bring everything into perspective. Thankfully the day before our wedding one of the passes finally opened back up. Everything was back on track and after nearly 9 years of being together, I finally got to marry the love of my life. We shared our vows under the pines as ash from the fires rained down from the sky and spent the night dancing in a barn with our dearest family and friends. Our live stream of our ceremony didn’t work, goats ate part of my bouquet and some of the lace off the sleeves on my dress, not to mention the bottom of my dress is stained brown from the dirt roads. We had technology malfunctions, lost car keys, dishes got broken, wine was spilled - and honestly, I wouldn’t change any part of it for the world. The immense love and support we felt that day was so special, and better than anything we could have hoped for.

We put so much energy into all the little details of our wedding day. While things like seating assignments, centerpieces, and wedding favors seem so important, in actuality none of that truly matters in the end. What matters is the love you share with your partner and the commitment you are choosing to make to one another. Your guests won’t remember what font was on their place card or what color their napkin was (as fun as it is to pick out all of those things - trust me I know). They’re going to remember the special moments and emotions felt sharing this day with you and your partner. We chose to set aside all the idealistic expectations of a modern wedding and focused solely on the love that we share. We will forever cherish the wild rollercoaster that was our wedding. As we finally begin this exciting new chapter of our lives together, we have a new perspective for what’s matters most in life.“
