Allison and Everett's Breckenridge Wedding

Allison and Everett hosted family and friends in beautiful Breckenridge for a quintessentially Colorado autumn mountain wedding. They held a warm, rustic-chic ceremony beneath the trees surrounded by loved ones and their sweet pups (but really, how cute are their dogs!?). They accented the natural aesthetic of their venue with deep cabernet and wildflower blooms.

After a long gown search, Allison fell in love with the Cheyenne gown by Claire Pettibone. Cheyenne is made of the most beautiful floral lace with a draped cameo motif along the scalloped edge. The sleeveless illusion neckline has a detailed button back closure (the buttons are covered in lace!) and a flowing dramatic train.

We chatted with Allison to learn more about her gorgeous wedding and her gown shopping experience at LWD!

LWD: Tell us a little about your gown shopping experience. What were you looking for in a dress and how did you narrow it down to your favorites?

Allison: I love old fashion, classy looking dresses that—in my personal opinion—never lose charm through the ages. I thought my dream dress would be off-the-shoulders, quarter length sleeves, and all lace. But, when I tried on a dress like that, I realized I couldn’t lift my arms above my head and I needed more room to dance. Once I realized my “dream” dress wasn’t my true dream, I didn’t know what I wanted. My friend was with me at LWD and she knew wedding dress designers way better than I did. She suggested the Cheyenne dress, which I tried on in black.

LWD: How did you end up deciding on your Claire Pettibone wedding dress? What did you love most about your dress?

Allison: Once the dress was on me, I knew it was the one for me because I kept stalling on having to take it off. I kept looking at myself in the mirror and thinking, “could this really be mine?” I couldn’t stop smiling when I had it on. By that point I tried on a billion dresses between three other boutiques. I love the classic, timeless look of my dress; the lace, the shape; it’s literally perfection.

LWD: What was your favorite part of your wedding?

Allison: Our wedding was essentially a massive party, and it’s really hard to decide, but my favorite part was definitely when we said our vows. I am a HUGE Lord Of The Rings nerd, my [now] husband said he would follow me into the fires of Mordor in front of 100 of our closest people. I melted.

LWD: Anything else you want to mention about your experience with LWD?

Allison: LWD was the best. Everyone there was so kind and genuine. They were eager to talk to me and were NEVER pretentious, which I ran into at a couple other boutiques. The location and shop are beautiful and I’m so grateful to have found my dream dress at LWD!
