The new Fall 2018 collection will be at Little White Dress for a trunk show, March 16th-25th - and we're so excited to share these gowns with our brides. Before then, get a sneak peek of some of our favorite gowns, and get to know more about the collection with an interview with Anne Barge's Fashion Director, Jennifer Weinberg!

LWD: How did Anne Barge get into bridal?

Jennifer: As a child, Anne spent many weekends sitting beside her mother, a concert pianist, through wedding ceremonies and special occasions alike. Inspired by the real brides as they wed, Anne began sketching gowns for friends and family until finally pursuing design school years later. After graduating from the University of Georgia, Anne first worked at Priscilla of Boston, an atelier and bridal salon where she fostered her natural talents in bridal style. Having worked up the rankings at various salons throughout the country, Anne opened her own store in Atlanta which she managed for thirteen years before selling to Kleinfeld’s in 1984. Anne then took her creativity overseas to London, where she opened Virgin Bride by request of Sir Richard Branson. With love and support from industry friends and a loyal clientele, Anne Barge launched her eponymous label in 1999, embodying all of the southern charm and grace of the legend herself.

LWD: What sets Anne Barge apart from other bridal gown designers?

Jennifer: The Anne Barge Bridal Collection embodies timeless design elements interpreted into chic and modern classics. Each gown is inspired by vintage couture and designed with a contemporary eye. The Anne Barge philosophy is simple, “Good design is timeless”.

LWD: What is the inspiration for the latest collection?

Jennifer: The 2018 Anne Barge collection is an escape into a fanciful garden that inspires all things feminine - a delicate tracery of ribbons and bows, a whisper of pink, dreamy layers of floral lace.

LWD: What is your favorite gown from this collection?

Jennifer: Celine from the Fall 2018 Anne Barge collection. The fitted silhouette highlights a woman's shape, the lace bodice gives a traditional element to the gown, and the stylized bow in the back adds a modern dramatic flair.

LWD: What is trending in bridal for 2018?

Jennifer: There is no stand out trend other than brides wanting to be individual and sentimental. Brides want to be certain that their gown is the best expression of their feelings in how they want to remember their wedding day.

LWD: What’s a bridal trend you’re seeing less of this season?

Jennifer: Less and less brides are wanting a barely there sheer look on their wedding day. Brides are seeking more refined and elegant styles which is something that AnneBarge always strives to perfect in her designs.

LWD: What kind of bride is an Anne Barge bride?

Jennifer: An Anne Barge Bride has a sense of style perfectly blending the ultra-feminine with the classic. Our brides want to look polished in a timeless way but with a fresh feeling... something that their grandmother would approve of.

LWD: What advice do you give brides shopping for their wedding gown?

Jennifer: Visit a salon with high recommendations and limit the amount of people you bring with you. A bride should trust the expert to suggest styles that may surprise her. A professional stylist will be honest and will provide expert advice. If the bride has gone into the appointment with an open mind it will allow the bride to trust her inner voice as to what makes her feel special.
