Bridal Fashion Week: the Jenny Packham Showroom
Visiting the Jenny Packham showroom in New York's chic Meatpacking District is always a highlight of our time at Bridal Fashion Week. Not only do we love picking out our new gowns to carry at Little White Dress, but the showroom itself is also such a treat to experience.
At the entrance is a wall filled with beautiful pictures of celebrities wearing Jenny Packham gowns, illuminated by a neon pink Jenny Packham sign. We can't think of a more fun way to enter wedding dress heaven!
Then you see rows and rows of shimmering, stunning Jenny Packham gowns. No matter how many times we see these gowns, it's difficult to hide our excitement at this sight! It really is the adult version of being a kid in a candy shop!
As with showroom appointments with all our designers, we get to see the gowns on models up close, so we can get a more detailed look at each gown after we've seen them at the runway show. We examine the fabrics, the beading, the movement of the gowns, all the while thinking about what we currently have in the shop and what we think our brides would love.
As we narrow down our selection of gowns, we hang them on the same rack and see them together. It's important to us to have a cohesive collection of gowns from each season, but also a selection that represents a variety of styles from the collection. The selection, in other words, should "tell the story" of the collection.
We are so pleased with our selection of gowns from the 2014 collection! They are going to compliment the collection of Jenny Packham gowns we already have in the shop, and we know that Colorado brides will love that each and every gown is glamorous and of the highest quality, yet completely wearable.
After selecting our gowns, we headed over to the accessories. We are thrilled to announce that Little White Dress Bridal Shop will now carry Jenny Packham accessories! The headpieces and jewelry work perfectly with Jenny Packham gowns AND with many of the other gowns we have at Little White Dress.
Before we (reluctantly!) left the beautiful showroom - we would have happily stayed for the whole afternoon! - we noticed the photo of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, wearing Jenny Packham, announcing Prince George to the world. Jenny Packham is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after fashion designers in the world; it is our pleasure and honor to be a part of her success, and more importantly, to bring her designs to Colorado women!
