LWD Bride: Valerie's Italian Vineyard Wedding
Valerie and Evan's love story is part luck, part adventure - and entirely romantic. Valerie is from Denver and lived here when she went on a trip to tour wine country in Piedmont, Italy. While Valerie was in Italy she met Evan, a British expat who worked there at a winery. The two hit it off instantly and spent the week together. Valerie returned to Denver after her trip, and ended up moving to Italy to be with Evan nine months later. Evan proposed not long after, and the international couple started planning their wedding at a vineyard near their home in Piedmont. Ok, it's official: Italy is the most romantic place in the world!
Fitting her classic and elegant style, Valerie chose the Sassi Holford 'Jessica' gown, paired with the Sassi Holford 'Maisie' shrug, both from Little White Dress Bridal Shop in Denver. Valerie wore the lace shrug for the ceremony, held in the barrel room of the winery, and went for bare shoulders in her chic gown during the al fresco reception. Her look is the perfect complement to the romantic, timeless setting.

Bringing more of her Denver roots to her Italian wedding, Valerie chose Fleur Decor as her wedding florist. Valerie is friends with the owner of Fleur Decor, Kristi, who traveled to Italy for the celebration. The flowers were bought fresh from a local market the day before the wedding - and they turned out beautifully!
Says Valerie, "We had folks from all over the world in attendance, the US, Canada, the UK, Italy, and other parts of Europe. To signify the global attendance we did a distance marker. We’d purchsed a pupitre from a local sparkling producer. We had my dad make signs with mileage from every city where our guests came from – ironically Denver was 5280 miles away! The pupitre was set up outside with each sign hanging off a wine bottles. Fleur Décor decorated the structure with flowers."
