Spring 2015 Bridal Trend Report
Just back from viewing the new collections in London and New York, the team at Little White Dress Bridal Shop in Denver is excited to share all the latest trends straight from the runways and showrooms of the world's top bridal designers! Selections from these stunning collections will be available at Little White Dress starting this fall, just in time for brides getting married in spring and summer of 2015. Nude Lace
In London and New York we saw several iterations of lace shown with a nude-colored underlay. We love this look - a bit edgy, a bit classic, and it makes that gorgeous lace pop! Accentuated with luxe details like beading, subtle cut-outs, and flattering silhouettes, this traditional fabric is anything but boring as we saw it this season. We were smitten by the nude lace gowns shown by Reem Acra, RIVINI, and So Sassi by Sassi Holford.
Leaf Motif
A new take on nature-inspired themes, the leaf motif was all over the runways for Spring 2015, including on gowns by Reem Acra, RIVINI, and Jenny Packham. In metallic silvers and golds, these leaves put the glamour in the typically feminine floral patterns we've seen in bridal fashion for many years. The leaf motif is a brilliant way to bring the beauty of nature into what you wear on your wedding day. If this trend is a little too much for your own wedding dress, we love the idea of bringing the leaf trend to your accessories. Delicate leaf patterns were displayed on accessories by Maria Elena Headpieces and Paris by Debra Moreland.
Light as Air
Dreaming of a comfortable wedding dress that doesn't forgo style? We were excited to see light, flowy, make-you-want-to-twirl gowns from Jenny Packham, Reem Acra, and Charlie Brear. In luscious silk crepes, chiffons, and tulles, these light as air dresses are just as flattering as they are luxurious. And an added bonus - with minimal embellishments, they're available at very sensible prices.
Layered Lace
If you look closely, you'll see that these laces are layered under chiffon, beading, or another style of lace. The layered lace we saw from several designers, including Liancarlo and RIVINI, adds beautiful dimension and intricacy to wedding gowns for that added touch of uniqueness. Perfect for brides who are understated and classic yet wouldn't dream of having the same thing as everyone else.
Shimmering Sequins
From subtle to show-stopping, all-over sequins were on wedding dresses this season by designers Charlie Brear, Sassi Holford, and Jenny Packham. Different from the large-motif beading and embellishments that are still also popular, these shimmering sparkles add a whole lot of glamour and illuminate a glowing bride.
Linear and Lattice Design
We noticed several versions of linear and lattice design, whether in intricate detail or on larger patterns that work like contouring for the body. (We've all heard that stripes are slimming, right?) The best versions we saw, by Jenny Packham, Naeem Khan, and RIVINI, show impeccable craftsmanship with beading, embroidery, and even leather ribbons.
Illusion and Low Back Details
It's no surprise that the illusion and low back trends continue to be popular in the bridal fashion world. In fact, nearly every designer is showing a selection of gowns with either one or both of these details. And brides continue to love it! This season some of the prettiest and most unique versions we saw of these trends were by Liancarlo, RIVINI, and Reem Acra.
Fashion for All Figures
We must admit, our favorite trend this season was Jenny Packham's genius decision to present her new collection on women in a variety shapes and sizes. We hope that more designers will do the same in the future. We always pick our gowns with our many types of brides in mind, and we've always known that Jenny Packham gowns look fabulous on women with curves. Now the whole world knows it too! Her beautiful, curvy models were truly the talk of Bridal Fashion Week.
